In this article I will try to answer some questions that you are probably asking yourself about handmade jewelry in general. The question that often arises is: How to maintain your handmade jewelry?
At this level we can distinguish two schools of those who say it will be fine and those who clean their jewelry after each use. Here are the real care instructions for your stainless steel and epoxy resin jewelry!
Cleaning Stainless Steel Jewelry:
Stainless steel jewelry is quite easy to clean. Pour some warm water into a small bowl and add mild dish soap. Dip a soft, lint-free cloth into the soapy water, then gently wipe the stainless steel jewelry with the damp cloth until the piece is clean. Wipe any remaining soap from your jewelry using a damp cloth dipped in clean water. Dry the jewelry well with a clean towel, then allow your pieces to air dry.
Clean Toothpaste WARNING: Keep in mind that toothpaste is abrasive. If you decide to use it for cleaning, make sure it is a non-whitening brand that does not contain silica and use a soft cloth to rub the paste onto your parts.
Cleaning Resin Jewelry:
Abrasives: Sometimes a damp microfiber, chammy, or silk cloth will polish your piece well or you can use plastic polish.
Water: DO NOT immerse your jewelry in water. The resin is NOT waterproof, only water resistant. So remember to remove your jewelry before showers, swimming, washing dishes, etc.
Sunlight: Store your jewelry out of direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may discolor and soften the resin.
Chemicals: Avoid exposing your jewelry to harsh chemicals and cleaning products. This includes perfume, hairspray, cleaning solutions, nail polish remover, antibacterial hand sanitizer, etc.
